It keeps a genuine community feel rather than a drive-through one, with a low-rise village centre, a much-loved foreshore esplanade, a tidal wading pool and a mangrove boardwalk, and a settled population with deep local roots.
For people living with disability, Wynnum is well served. The suburb has railway stations on the Cleveland line offering direct trains to the Brisbane CBD, and the foreshore esplanade is flat and accessible for outdoor recreation. The Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa, is a modern public health facility serving the area, and there is a good spread of medical practices, allied-health providers and community groups close by. Redland Hospital at Cleveland is the nearest public hospital for acute care.
Supportr provides consistent NDIS support to participants throughout Wynnum — personal care and daily living routines at home, in-home domestic help, and social and community participation along the esplanade, at the markets and across the wider bayside. We assign each person a small team of two or three support workers and keep that team stable, so support is delivered by people who genuinely know you. We welcome both self-managed and plan-managed participants and offer flexible scheduling across mornings, evenings and weekends.
