Over recent decades it has grown into a self-contained community serving a large surrounding catchment.

The town centre brings together a large shopping centre, supermarkets, a cinema and a public library within a single accessible precinct, alongside medical practices and allied-health providers, which keeps everyday errands and appointments close to home. Bus routes link the suburb to Capalaba's interchange and to Cleveland, and the flat foreshore parkland offers accessible space for getting outdoors. Redland Hospital at Cleveland is the nearest public hospital.
Supportr provides consistent NDIS support to participants throughout Victoria Point — personal care and daily living routines at home, in-home domestic help, and social and community participation around the town centre, foreshore and wider Redlands.
